Foundation Art

Projects completed over my first year at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

DRAW 100 and 101 were taken by Professor Periklis Pagratis, a professor i credit with changing the way I approached fine art drawing. His methodology confirmed for me the mysterious ways the eye has a natural affection for beauty and harmony. Using approximation techniques, we slowly moved to the use of kinaesthetic and visual senses to create dimension using light and dark materials. The final stages were colour studies to break down the use of primary pigments to create unique colour experiences. Thorough vocabulary studies supplemented each exercise, to help articulate in technical terms what makes a piece of art visual and conceptually appealing.
