Decay & Remnant

Old photographs strewn on the ground, rotting food that once fed families, buildings that yawn open to curious teenagers climbing over to take a peek into its caverns.

For my AS Level Art & Design submission, I chose the theme 'Decay' which tied into my self-exploratory project of 'Remnant'. Both themes focused on what is left behind - a sense of nostalgia, weathering, sadness, sweet melancholy.

Most of these pieces were my foray into conceptual work as opposed to still-life or nature studies. They challenged me to combine my affection for fine art with a theme, which I did enjoy doing in the end.
